It seems like just a couple of days back we saw Mumbai lifting the trophy but in the blink of an eye, we are back for the 14th season of the most loved tournament, the Indian Premier League.
The VIVO IPL 14 will be played in India, after a successful season in the UAE. The first match is going to be kickstarted between two of the star teams, MI and RCB on April 09th at the M. A Chidambaram stadium in Chennai. The second match will see two giants, CSK and DC, going up against each other in the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.
Both CSK and DC are strong teams with a well-placed squad and will look to gain the two points. DC has to be the favorite team going into the match as it had been terrific in each one of the clashes last season and was undoubtedly one of the strongest. CSK, on the other hand, had tasted defeat after defeat owing to the absence of many of its phenomenal players, but it definitely packs a punch.

Delhi Capitals:
Rishabh Pant(c), Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane, Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Chris Woakes, R Ashwin, Axar Patel, Amit Mishra, Lalit Yadav, Pravin Dubey, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Ishant Sharma, Avesh Khan, Steve Smith, Umesh Yadav, Ripal Patel, Vishnu Vinod, Lukman Meriwala, M Siddarth, Tom Curran, Sam Billings.
Shreyas Iyer had to say goodbye to the season because of his shoulder injury. But players in the squad are resilient and capable of handling it well. Dhawan was the second-highest run-scorer in 2020 scoring 618 runs and he also looked in good touch in the recent ODI series against England with scores of 98 and 67. Rishabh Pant had emerged as a match-winner for India in the recent series against Australia and England. Along with a bowling attack led by Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada, they form a solid squad.
Chennai Super Kings:
Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain), Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, KM Asif, Deepak Chahar, Dwayne Bravo, Faf du Plessis, Imran Tahir, N Jagadeesan, Karn Sharma, Lungi Ngidi, Mitchell Santner, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shardul Thakur, Sam Curran, R Sai Kishore, Moeen Ali, K Gowtham, Cheteshwar Pujara, Harishankar Reddy, Bhagath Varma, C Hari Nishanth.
The CSK squad will rely on the blend of oodles of experience they have in the game and the new talent they have acquired in the auctions. While MSD and his skills with the bat need no introduction, the comeback of Suresh Raina will surely bolster their performance. Sam Curran, along with Faf du Plessis, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran, new recruit Moeen Ali, and fast-improving Ruturaj Gaikwad could prove a handful for the opposition.
With such potent teams competing against each other, the match is going to be a treat to watch.
