Pakistan fought their way back into contention for a spot in the U-19 World Cup final against Australia at Willowmoore Park, despite setting a below-par target of 179.

The pacers disrupted Australia’s solid start by taking two quick wickets right after the powerplay. In the 16th over, Harjas Singh gifted another dismissal to the Asian side.

Batting on 27, Harry Dixon tried to sneak a quick single off-spinner Naveen Ahmed Khan’s sixth over. However, Singh, at the non-striker’s end, failed to respond promptly, leaving Dixon stranded midway.

The delay allowed the fielder to recover the ball, fumble, and still throw it to the wicket-keeper, catching Singh well short of his crease.

Singh’s father, witnessing the blunder from the stands, couldn’t hide his disappointment, especially considering Singh’s lackluster performance throughout the tournament, as highlighted by Twitter users.
