Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first against SunRisers Hyderabad at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi in Match 55 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Rohit made two changes, bringing in Piyush Chawla and Krunal Pandya in place of Saurabh Tiwary and Jayant Yadav while SRH brought in Manish Pandey and Mohammad Nabi into their side replacing Kane Williamson and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

With the three play-off spots — Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings and Royals Challengers Bangalore — already sealed, KKR consolidated their position for the fourth and final play-off spot, finishing their round-robin engagements with 14 points from 14 games with an impressive net run rate of 0.587.

The Mumbai Indians will face Sunrisers Hyderabad, with the defending champions still having a theoretical chance of reaching the playoffs. MI will have to beat SRH by 171 runs to
get past KKR’s net run-rate, who almost sealed their qualification with a 86-run win on Thursday. If, however, MI bowl first, they will be eliminated automatically.

Mumbai Indians got off to a blistering start with openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan adding 78 runs in the first five overs against SunRisers Hyderabad at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Excellent catch from Nabi to pack the skipper. Rashid bowls short on line and Rohit attempts a wry flick. It clips the top-edge and Nabi runs back from square leg to complete a tumbling catch.

Ishan kishan has taken just 16 deliveries to the milestone and this is the quickest ever half-century for Mumbai Indians in IPL history
