WATCH : Archana Devi Grabs One-handed Stunner in Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup

In the ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup final match on Sunday, Team India’s Archana Devi made a spectacular one-handed catch at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom. The Indian team was exceptional with the ball, dismissing England for only 68 runs. The Indian bowlers put on a dominating performance, with seven English batters failing to score in double digits in the inaugural Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup final.

Archana’s incredible catch to dismiss Ryana Macdonald Gay earned her widespread attention on social media. The catch took place on the first ball of the twelfth over, when the English batswoman hit the ball into the air towards cover. Archana dove to her right and made a spectacular one-handed grab, helping India claim the sixth wicket. The bowler, Parshavi Chopra, and other Indian players rushed to celebrate the wicket.

In the final of the inaugural ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup on Sunday, India’s captain Shafali Verma won the toss and elected to bowl first against England. Both teams kept their playing line-up unchanged from their previous semifinal matches. Spectators were able to attend the final free of charge.

India secured a spot in the final with a series of convincing wins, with the exception of a stumble against Australia in the Super Sixes. On the other hand, England has yet to be defeated and also recorded some impressive victories.
