In the Bangladesh Premier League, Naseem Shah and Azam Khan had a playful interaction, with Naseem trying to hug his Pakistani comrade and then mimicking him.
Naseem and Azam, two teammates, faced each other in the BPL match between Khulna Tigers and Comilla Victorians. Despite Azam approaching the crease with his team at 197-2, following Tamim Iqbal and Shai Hope’s 184-run partnership (95 off 61 for Tamim, 91 not out off 55 for Hope), Naseem remained in high spirits.
The young quick gave Azam an entertaining greeting, but Azam ended the game with a flourish by hitting a four, a six, and two singles in four balls.
Naseem tried to embrace Azam and shake his hand, but Azam repelled the young player both times. Azam’s smile indicated that their playful behavior was meant in good humor. Naseem then mimicked Azam’s walk by following behind him with outstretched arms.
Naseem was justified in having fun, as Comilla Victorians achieved a remarkable victory with 10 balls remaining. Johnson Charles scored an undefeated 107 in 57 balls, including a string of seven sixes in 13 balls, while Mohammad Rizwan contributed 73 in 39 balls.
