WATCH : Suryakumar Yadav takes a brilliant catch at slips

India faced New Zealand in the decisive T20I match of a three-game series at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, 1st February. India chose to bat first and put on a dazzling display, scoring 234/4 in their 20 overs. Shubman Gill was the standout performer, producing a phenomenal knock of 126* from just 63 balls as the opening batter, leading India to a massive total.

In the meantime, the Indian bowlers got off to an excellent start, dismissing three New Zealand batsmen within the first two overs. Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh claimed two wickets for India.

The hosts maintained their control over New Zealand in the middle, with Hardik Pandya taking another wicket in the third over of New Zealand’s innings. However, Suryakumar Yadav’s wicket was the highlight of the match due to the remarkable catch he made.

As Glenn Phillips attempted to cut a rising delivery near his body, the ball escaped from his bat’s outside edge and went towards the second slip. Meanwhile, Yadav was quick to react and timed his jump perfectly to make the catch. The fielder was elated after making a spectacular grab.

This was the second time Yadav made a remarkable catch while fielding at second slip. Previously, in the first over of the NZ innings, he took a similar type of catch to dismiss Finn Allen.
