WATCH : Batter walks outside off, loses leg-stump to Sheldon Cottrell

In the ILT20, Scotland’s George Munsey was dismissed in an unexpected manner as he stepped across his stumps and was bowled by Sheldon Cottrell, with the ball hitting his leg stump.

Munsey appeared to recover from his stroke during the middle of it, possibly anticipating that the ball would go by without incident on the leg side. However, he was caught off guard by Cottrell’s inward swing.

Munsey was the first batsman to be dismissed in Dubai Capitals’ attempt to chase 183 against Desert Vipers, during the second over. He was out for a three-ball duck, and Cottrell celebrated the dismissal with his signature salute.

In his debut in the ILT20, Munsey recorded a fifty against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders. This was his second match in the UAE-based competition. Cottrell has been a top performer for the Vipers, ranking second in the tournament’s wicket charts with an economical bowling average of just above a run per ball.

Munsey’s dismissal had a resemblance to Ijaz Ahmed’s infamous exit at the hands of Dominic Cork, although the cause of Munsey’s fall was less apparent.
