WATCH : Smriti Mandhana takes a terrific catch diving forward to dismiss Shemaine Campbelle

Smriti Mandhana, India’s renowned batter, was unable to participate in India’s first match against their long-standing rivals Pakistan at the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 owing to a finger injury.

Nonetheless, the left-handed batswoman made a return to the team and was selected in the playing XI for the match against West Indies on Wednesday (15 Feb). Mandhana marked her comeback by grabbing a remarkable catch to dismiss Shemaine Campbelle, thus asserting her dominance in the game.

While attempting a reverse sweep against Deepti Sharma, the West Indies batter’s shot resulted in the ball popping off her top edge. The ball proceeded towards the short third-man fielder, yet it was traveling at a low trajectory, making it challenging for Mandhana, who was running in to field the ball.

Nevertheless, the fielder exhibited excellent skills by diving and catching the ball just inches away from the ground.
