WATCH : Perry expresses displeasure after Knight’s chaotic run out

Royal Challengers Bangalore have been struggling to overcome their rough patch in the WPL, even after losing their first three games. Their recent match against UP Warriorz made this evident as they faced continuous wicket fall after Sophie Devine’s dismissal, despite superb knocks from Devine and Ellyse Perry.

Perry emerged as the star of the show by scoring 52 runs from 39 balls in a total of 138, but unfortunately, she also played a role in Heather Knight’s dismissal. Knight had previously played two decent knocks of 30 and 34 in the tournament.

During the 13th over of the innings, Rajeshwari Gayakwad was bowling and Ellyse Perry was facing the second ball of the over. Perry attempted a cut on a delivery outside off, which was close to the cover fielder. Despite the danger, both batters attempted to take a single.

However, the fielder reacted quickly, and a miscommunication between the batters resulted in Heather Knight, who was running at the striker’s end, being caught way short of the crease. The third umpire confirmed the run-out, leading to the dismissal of Knight, who had played well in the previous game and was striking the ball well in this one too.

Perry was well aware of the significance of taking such a valuable wicket, and her disappointment was evident as Knight began her walk back to the pavilion.
