Here’s why Mumbai Indians skipper missing from IPL 2023 Captains photo

In a matter of hours, the IPL 2023 will commence at the Narendra Modi Stadium. As customary, a captains’ photoshoot was held a day before the kick-off, with all the participating captains except Rohit Sharma present. Fans were left to speculate about Rohit Sharma’s whereabouts after observing the photoshoot pictures.

As per tradition, a captain’s photoshoot was arranged at the opening game’s venue for this season of IPL. The shoot involved all the participating franchise captains striking poses with the IPL trophy. However, Rohit Sharma, the captain of MI, was conspicuously absent in this year’s photoshoot.

On Thursday’s photo shoot, the Mumbai Indians’ representative, Rohit Sharma, was absent despite his team’s five-time championship wins.

Sources indicate that the MI captain did not make the trip to Ahmedabad for the captain’s meeting due to a fever, which also led to the cancellation of his flight. Although he missed the photo shoot, Rohit Sharma is anticipated to recover in time for MI’s opening game on April 2nd.

All nine skippers were present, yet the focus was on the missing Rohit Sharma. MI clarified that Rohit is experiencing mild fever, which is why he could not appear in the same frame as the other captains for the photoshoot.

Fans could not resist creating memes about the situation, with one fan posting a picture of Rohit holding the five trophies he won and stating, “For those wondering where Rohit is, here he is, occupied with posing with his trophies.”
