Shubman Gill is out bowled by Nortje! The ball was bowled at a speed of 148.8kph and had a scrambled seam that nipped back in off the deck from a length. Gill attempted to turn the ball into the on-side, but it was too quick for him.
The ball beat him on the inside edge, and the death rattle followed. Nortje is on fire as he has now removed both of the GT openers.
On a pitch that offered plenty of pace and bounce, the Capitals finished with a total of 162. The pitch also provided seam movement early on, but the Capitals faced trouble when they encountered the red-hot Alzarri Joseph, who delivered a serious spell of fast bowling. Despite a loose first over, Joseph’s short-pitched deliveries rattled the Capitals.
The Titans did not have a good start with the new ball as Shami was quite erratic, although he managed to grab two wickets. However, Pandya continued to attack with his pacers once he realized the amount of assistance the pitch offered.
Rashid was brought on quite late, in the 13th over, but he still managed to take a couple of wickets. It was only due to some powerful hitting by Axar Patel lower down the order that the Capitals managed to reach a total of over 160.
