In their Sunday afternoon match in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Titans had a strong start against the Kolkata Knight Riders, reaching 79/1 in the first innings after nine overs. Shubman Gill was in good form, scoring 30 runs, while Sai Sudharsan remained unbeaten with 20 runs off 14 deliveries.
However, Wriddhiman Saha’s failure at the top of the order was a setback for the team. Despite this, Saha’s dismissal was not entirely his fault, as Narayan Jagadeesan, who was playing his first game of the season, made an incredible catch to end Saha’s run-a-ball 17-run knock.
During the fifth over, Saha faced Narine and attempted to sweep the second ball, but he only managed a thick top edge that went up in the air. Initially, it looked like the ball was going to land safely in No-Man’s land between short and deep square leg.
However, Jagadeesan chased after the ball at full speed, running backward from inside the circle. Just as the ball seemed out of reach, Jagadeesan dove forward with both hands outstretched and miraculously caught the ball before it hit the ground.
Jagadeesan’s catch not only impressed himself but also the Ahmedabad crowd and Twitter users, who acknowledged the opposition’s impressive grab.
