WATCH : Ayush Badoni bizarre hit wicket dismissal against RCB

In an exciting match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants, both teams showcased an impressive batting display, with Ayush Badoni contributing 30 runs in the second innings. However, his promising performance came to a halt when he made a costly mistake.

During the penultimate over from Wayne Parnell, Badoni attempted an innovative shot on the fourth delivery, where he shuffled across the stumps to hit a full-length delivery on his legs over fine leg for a six. Although it was a moment of celebration for RCB, it quickly turned sour when Badoni accidentally hit his bat onto the stumps after completing the shot.

In Chinnaswamy, KL Rahul, the local hero, decided to field first after winning the toss on a superb batting wicket. However, his decision didn’t go as planned as the home team made a strong start, with star batsmen Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis forging a quick opening partnership.

Despite struggling initially with timing, Kohli managed to score a brisk half-century, his second of the tournament, giving the Men in Red and Gold an excellent powerplay. However, momentum shifted in favor of the visitors during the middle overs after Kohli’s dismissal.

The team from Lucknow had hoped to limit RCB to under 200 runs as they only managed to score 48 runs in the seven overs following the powerplay. However, their aspirations were dashed when Glenn Maxwell’s scorching innings spurred his skipper into action.

Faf and Maxwell formed an extraordinary partnership, resulting in RCB scoring an incredible 108 runs in the last seven overs of the first innings, thanks to half-centuries from both Maxwell and his captain.
