WATCH : Avesh Khan breaching the code of conduct with throwing the helmet

The 15th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 was played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, where the Lucknow Super Giants defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore by 1 wicket in a thrilling contest on the last ball.

In this match, Avesh Khan was the player who played the match-winning shot for his team. After taking a single run, Avesh was overjoyed and in his excitement, he took off his helmet and slammed it on the ground.

Avesh has now been reprimanded for this action. Yes, the fast bowler of the Lucknow Super Giants has been found guilty of breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. Avesh has also accepted the Level 1 offense 2.2 of the Code of Conduct and has agreed to the sanction.

It should be noted that not only Avesh Khan but also the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Faf du Plessis, has been fined. In the Bangalore vs Lucknow match, the RCB team was unable to complete their overs within the stipulated time, resulting in a slow-over rate penalty of INR 12 lakhs being imposed on captain Faf.

It is noteworthy that Lucknow Super Giants needed just one run off the last ball of their innings. Here, RCB also had a chance to draw the match twice. Bowler Harshal Patel could have dismissed Ravi Bishnoi at the non-striker end, but he couldn’t. On the other hand, when Lucknow’s batsman ran for the last ball to take a run, wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik had a chance to run out the player at the striker’s end by displaying agility. However, he couldn’t do so.
