WATCH : Deepak Chahar hilariously leaves dugout during MS Dhoni’s shadow practice

During the IPL match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on April 17th, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fast bowler Deepak Chahar was witness to a comical moment involving his captain, MS Dhoni. Despite being sidelined due to a hamstring injury, Chahar was in the dugout as CSK put up an impressive total of 226 runs, thanks to key contributions from Devon Conway, Ajinkya Rahane, and Shivam Dube.

However, during the first innings, Chahar was taken aback when Dhoni suddenly started shadow batting in the midst of the intense game. CSK eventually secured their third victory of the IPL 2023 season against their rivals RCB at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The footage shows Deepak appearing confused as Dhoni puts on his pads and starts practicing his batting technique in front of him within the team’s seating area. When the skipper brings his bat close to Deepak’s face, the bowler promptly moves away from his seat to avoid any potential injury.

It’s worth noting that Deepak had to exit the field after bowling just one over in Match 12 of the current season against Mumbai Indians, due to a hamstring injury sustained in the fifth ball of his first over. The CSK physio team assisted him in walking off the field.

The Chennai-based franchise has had a tough time with injuries, with all-rounder Kyle Jamieson and pacer Mukesh Choudhary ruled out for the entire season. Additionally, Chahar, Sisanda Magala, and Simarjeet Singh have also suffered injuries, with some of them ruled out for the rest of the season.

However, there is some good news for the team as Ben Stokes is expected to make a comeback in the upcoming matches, according to CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan in an interview with Cricbuzz.
