WATCH : Huge mix-up between Mitchell March and Manish Pandey to cost a Run out

The Chennai Super Kings struggled to score against the Delhi Capitals bowlers, led by Mitchell Marsh (3/18), and were limited to 167/8 in the match. Although MS Dhoni scored 20 runs from just 9 balls towards the end of the innings and Shivam Dube’s 25 gave CSK hope for a large total, Marsh dismissed Dube to halt their progress.

In the Chepauk match on Wednesday, Chennai Super Kings captain Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first. Ambati Rayudu replaced Shivam Dube in the starting lineup for Chennai, while Lalit Yadav took the place of Manish Pandey for Delhi.

Chahar returned to bowl the third over, but Salt suffered a painful blow to his ribs. The physio came to check on him, but he seemed to be okay. Chahar then bowled a wide delivery, which the Englishman managed to hit for a six on the extra ball. However, on the next delivery, he attempted another swing but got the bottom of the bat, and Rayudu took a catch to dismiss him.

Manish Pandey faced Tushar Deshpande’s short delivery on the stumps, but his defensive shot ended up at cover. Both batters hesitated and exchanged indecisive looks, attempting to find a single. Rahane, fielding at cover, held onto the ball and wisely refrained from throwing it.

Instead, he noticed that Marsh was caught halfway down the pitch and ran towards the bowler’s end to remove the bails. Unfortunately, Pandey could not sacrifice himself either, and he expressed disappointment by tapping his helmet while bowing his head down. It was a poor performance from both batters.
