Fans trolled Nitish Rana for being ‘Arrogant’ after Yashasvi Jaiswal’s heroics

In the RR vs KKR game on May 11, Yashasvi Jaiswal delivered a stunning performance, which has been hailed as one of the finest knocks of IPL 2023. The Rajasthan Royals’ opening batter scored 98 runs off just 47 balls, hitting 13 fours and 5 maximums. Jaiswal’s exceptional performance earned him the player of the match award.

However, some social media users criticized Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Nitish Rana for his comments in the post-match presentation ceremony. Rana had praised Jaiswal’s innings but had also made a statement that came across as arrogant to some fans.

After the game, Rana was asked to comment on Jaiswal’s brilliant knock. He acknowledged the quality of Jaiswal’s innings and said that it was a day when the Rajasthan Royals’ batter could do anything he wanted. Rana also stated that the pitch was a 180 wicket, as he had mentioned at the toss.

However, Rana’s comments did not go down well with some social media users, who felt that he sounded arrogant. Despite the criticism, Jaiswal’s performance was widely appreciated by fans and pundits alike.

During the post-match presentation ceremony, the KKR skipper reflected on the strategy of using a part-time spinner to unsettle Yashasvi Jaiswal, who had been batting well throughout the tournament. However, Jaiswal played superbly and the plan did not work out. The KKR skipper commented that Jaiswal’s knock was exceptional and that it was the kind of performance that only happens once in a lifetime.

However, Nitish Rana’s comment was met with criticism from some Twitter users, who felt that he sounded arrogant. One user questioned whether Rana was unable to accept Jaiswal’s outstanding innings, as he had described it as a once-in-a-lifetime knock. Despite the negative reaction from some fans, Jaiswal’s performance was widely praised for its quality and impact on the game.

In the RR vs KKR game, the Kolkata Knight Riders struggled to build momentum in their innings. Despite a solid start, both their openers lost their wickets early, and only Venkatesh Iyer managed to score a half-century. Nitish Rana was also dismissed cheaply after scoring just 22 runs.

The middle order, comprising players like Rinku Singh and Andre Russell, failed to deliver, leaving KKR with a below-par total of 149-8 in their 20 overs on a batting-friendly wicket at the Eden Gardens. Yuzvendra Chahal took four wickets, while Trent Boult dismissed two KKR batters.

In response to KKR’s total, Rajasthan Royals lost their star batter Jos Buttler early on, but his dismissal did not hamper their progress. Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal then took on every KKR bowler, putting up a dominant display to chase down the target in just 13.1 overs.
