6 Indian players have been named in Zim Afro T10 2023 teams’ squads

The popularity of the shortest format of cricket is no secret, known for its fast-paced, entertaining, and high-scoring nature. Currently, the T20 format reigns supreme as the most popular and widely played format worldwide. However, there is also T10 cricket, which offers an even shorter game. In T10, each team plays 10 overs, allowing players to showcase their skills within a limited timeframe. To boost the popularity of the 10-over format, the Zim Afro T10 tournament has been introduced, featuring a roster of teams competing in the event.

In this context, we can anticipate an abundance of drama, excitement, and thrilling moments, as aggressive batting takes center stage. However, there is also the likelihood of batters making mistakes while attempting big shots, thereby becoming victims of skillful bowlers. Overall, T10 cricket provides a truly entertaining spectacle. Notably, the Zim Afro T10 cricket league has been gradually garnering attention in recent times.

Each game in the league has an approximate duration of 90 minutes. The competition follows a double round-robin format, followed by Eliminators and the Final. Making its debut in July 2023, the Zim Afro T10 cricket league marks an exciting addition to the cricket calendar. The tournament is founded by Shaji Ul Mulk, the chairman of the T10 League.

Five teams are gearing up to participate in the upcoming tournament: Bulawayo Braves, Cape Town Samp Army, Durban Qalandars, Harare Hurricanes, and Joburg Buffaloes, all of whom will make their mark in the inaugural edition. The excitement will kick off from July 20 to 29, with all games taking place in Harare. The battle for supremacy promises to be thrilling, as teams face challenges and strive to emerge victorious in the end.

Adding to the excitement, six retired Indian cricketers will be joining the league. Stuart Binny (Cape Town Samp Army), Sreesanth (Harare Hurricanes), Irfan Pathan (Harare Hurricanes), Parthiv Patel (Cape Town Samp Army), Yusuf Pathan (Joburg Buffaloes), and Robin Uthappa (Harare Hurricanes) will showcase their skills once again.

Even though they have bid farewell to international cricket, their talent and passion for the game remain evident. With such prominent Indian names participating in the tournament, T10 cricket is poised to attract a massive viewership from India. Keep an eye on Sreesanth as he stands out as a player to watch in this dynamic format.
