WATCH : Shubman Gill Spotted Dancing At Forward Short-Leg

On the inaugural day of the first Test match between India and West Indies, Team India asserted their dominance on the field. They confidently dismissed the West Indies, restricting them to a mere 150 runs. Adding to their strong performance, the Indian team ended the day with an impressive score of 80, without losing any wickets.

Ravichandran Ashwin, an experienced player, stole the limelight as the leading bowler of the day. His exceptional performance marked his 33rd five-wicket haul in Test cricket. Ravindra Jadeja also played a significant role, taking three wickets and contributing to the formidable spin duo alongside Ashwin.

The West Indies batsmen struggled against the seasoned spinners, Ashwin and Jadeja, who left them in a state of difficulty throughout the day. Their exceptional skills added to the overall powerful performance of the Indian team. Additionally, debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal showcased his talent as an opener, remaining unbeaten with a steady 40 runs from 73 balls.

Jaiswal’s entry into the team as an opener, replacing Shubman Gill, marked a promising start to his Test career. Gill, who moved to the number three position, seemed comfortable with this change. The decision was made based on Gill’s own suggestion to the team’s coach, Rahul Dravid, expressing his preference for the number three spot, a position he had excelled in throughout his cricket career.

Hence, the first day of the Test match belonged to India, as they displayed strength, unity, and dominance. With the likes of talented players such as Ashwin, Jadeja, and Jaiswal, as well as experienced individuals like Sharma and Dravid leading the team, Team India is poised to continue delivering thrilling performances. Cricket fans can eagerly anticipate the upcoming days, expecting more captivating displays of skill and excitement on the field.
