Prithvi Shaw Hits Fifth First-Class Ton and Now Very Close To Sachin Tendulkar’s Record

The young talented batsman Prithvi Shaw slammed his fifth first class century for his Ranji Team Mumbai. He hits the century against the Andhra, which was just his 7th match in this first class cricket. This was the fifth first class century for Shaw and also the fourth Ranji Trophy century.

Shaw scored 114 runs off 173 runs with the help of 14 fours and 1 six. Among the Indian cricketer only the legendary Sachin Tendulkar has more centuries than Prithvi Shaw at this age. Sachin slammed seven centuries before the age of 18.

Earlier Prithvi Shaw represented the  Indian Board President’s XI in a one-day warm-up game against the New Zealand. He impressed the New Zealand pace bowler Trent Boult, who bowled him in that warm-up match in Mumbai.

After the match Boult said,”I heard he was 17, I couldn’t quite believe it. He played very nicely. I think the ball swung around nicely at the start, and it didn’t seem to trouble him”
