After being left out of the Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2023, Yuzvendra Chahal expressed his sentiments in a cryptic tweet reminiscent of Rohit Sharma’s reaction to his exclusion from the Indian Test team in 2018.
Chahal conveyed his message through a combination of emojis, alluding to the notion that a new day would eventually dawn. Despite being a consistent presence in India’s ODI and T20I lineup over the past years, Chahal found himself absent from the roster for significant tournaments.
Following the announcement of India’s Asia Cup 2023 squad, Chahal took to Twitter to share his thoughts, receiving support from his fans who empathized with his omission. This response parallels Rohit Sharma’s reaction when he missed out on a Test spot in 2018.

Captain Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarkar held a press conference in Delhi on August 20, where they elaborated on the rationale behind their selections for the Asia Cup 2023 squad.
Addressing Yuzvendra Chahal’s absence from the squad, Agarkar explained: “Yuzvendra Chahal has been an exceptional performer, but we needed to strike a balance within the team composition. Accommodating two wrist spinners proved challenging, as there’s space for only one in the lineup. Regrettably, one had to be left out, and at present, Kuldeep holds a slight edge.”
