The Jamaica Tallawahs’ woes persisted in the Caribbean Premier League as they suffered their fifth consecutive defeat in Guyana, dropping to second-to-last in the standings. Despite setting a modest target of 153 for the Guyana Amazon Warriors to chase, the hosts quickly reached their goal with seven wickets and nine balls to spare, maintaining their undefeated streak in the tournament and regaining the top spot in the rankings.
Although the visitors couldn’t make an impact on the cricket field, their batsman Fabian Allen made a memorable impression with some explosive strokeplay at Providence Stadium.
In the 18th over of the match, Fabian Allen faced South African seamer Dwaine Pretorius. Pretorius delivered a tempting ball outside the off-stump, perfectly placed to conclude his spell. Allen, the versatile all-rounder at the crease, needed no further invitation. He executed a clean, powerful swing, propelling the ball effortlessly towards long-off.
The Kookaburra cricket ball effortlessly sailed over the boundary before crashing into the glass structures flanking the sight screen.Upon reviewing the replays, it was revealed that the ball had traveled an astonishing distance of 98 meters, shattering the glass enclosure in the process.

Photos released later by the CPL showcased the extent of Allen’s destructive hit. Not only did it leave a significant hole in the window where it struck, but the sheer force of the shot had caused the entire pane to fracture, rendering the ball unusable.
While such incidents are relatively common in informal cricket played in local villages and alleys, witnessing such an event in professional cricket is exceptionally rare and is sure to become a staple in CPL highlight reels for years to come.
