WATCH : Virat Kohli Receives Handmade Portrait Of Himself From Fan

Virat Kohli stands out as one of the most prominent figures in the cricketing world. His remarkable skills and unwavering consistency have garnered him an extensive global fan base. Amid the ongoing Asia Cup in Sri Lanka, Kohli found himself on the receiving end of a heartfelt gesture in Colombo when a young fan presented him with a handmade portrait.

The star batsman graciously expressed his gratitude to the girl and even took pictures with her, holding the portrait in his hands. The heartwarming video of this encounter has since taken the social media world by storm.

Kohli’s performance in the Asia Cup has been nothing short of exceptional. He notched up his 47th One Day International (ODI) century during a Super 4 clash against Pakistan earlier in the week, a milestone that further solidified his cricketing legacy.

In that particular match, Kohli played a pivotal role in India’s victory, scoring an unbeaten 122 runs as India triumphed over Pakistan by a commanding margin of 228 runs. However, fate dealt him a less favorable hand when he was dismissed cheaply in a match against Sri Lanka on Tuesday.

Reflecting on his 47th ODI century, Kohli described it as a prime example of playing a supporting role for the team. He attributed his rapid runs between the wickets to his exceptional fitness, though he modestly referred to the singles and doubles as “easy runs.” In this remarkable innings, Kohli accumulated his runs through a total of 38 singles and 15 twos before accelerating his scoring in the latter stages.

Commenting on his innings, Kohli stated, “I always prepare my game in a way I can help the team. Today was a classic example of not getting off to a good start… KL (Rahul) started better, and I was trying to bring him on strike, playing second fiddle.” He also emphasized his commitment to fitness, noting that pushing for those singles and doubles was a more straightforward approach compared to attempting big shots, a strategy that has yielded positive results in the past.

Kohli’s next appearance is scheduled for Friday, where India will face Bangladesh in their final Super 4 match. With a spot in the final already secured, India remains a strong contender in the tournament, poised to compete for the championship title on Sunday.
