WATCH : Nathan Ellis’ jaffa sent Reeza Hendricks’ bails flying

In the ongoing One Day International (ODI) series between Australia and South Africa, the visiting team is currently leading with a score of 2-1. The fourth ODI match, held at SuperSport Park in Centurion, began with the Australian team opting to put the hosts into bat.

South Africa had a sluggish start, with Australia maintaining a tight grip on the game. Despite scoring just 44 runs in the initial ten overs, South Africa managed to avoid losing any early wickets. The Australian team needed something extraordinary to dismiss the South African openers, and that’s precisely what Nathan Ellis delivered.

In the 13th over, Ellis faced a challenging start, conceding six runs off the first four deliveries. However, his fortunes turned with the fifth ball, as he produced a remarkable delivery that shifted the balance in favor of Australia.

Ellis bowled a delivery aimed at Hendricks, but the ball exhibited a slight deviation after pitching, leaving the batsman stranded and helpless in the middle. Consequently, the ball went on to disturb the stumps, resulting in the Proteas opener being dismissed with the stumps in disarray.

The Twitter community responded enthusiastically to this dismissal, showering praise on Ellis for executing a bowler’s dream of hitting the stumps, thereby breaking South Africa’s opening partnership, which had accumulated 64 runs.
