Pakistani sports presenter Zainab Abbas, who is currently part of the presenting team for the ongoing ICC ODI World Cup 2023, has found herself in a controversial situation due to her past social media activities. Zainab Abbas, a renowned presenter from Pakistan, faced criticism for her previous online posts that contained anti-Hindu and anti-Indian sentiments, which subsequently went viral on the internet.
Supreme Court lawyer Vineet Jindal took these matters seriously and filed a cyber case against Zainab Abbas in response. In his formal complaint, he alleged that the Pakistani sports presenter had propagated hatred towards Hindus and Hinduism by sharing anti-India and Hinduphobic comments. The Indian advocate used his official X handle (formerly known as Twitter) to inform the public about the complaint he had lodged against Zainab.
The lawyer also asserted that these offensive tweets about Hinduism and anti-India sentiments were originally posted on Twitter approximately nine years ago under the username “Zainablovesrk.” Presently, the account name has been changed to “ZAbbas Official,” which is her official X account. A recent post by the Indian advocate, featuring his complaint submitted to the Cyber Cell of the Delhi Police, gained widespread attention on social media.
Furthermore, the lawyer called for the filing of an FIR (First Information Report) against Pakistani presenter Zainab Abbas, invoking sections 153A, 295, 506, 121 of the Indian Penal Code, and section 67 of the IT Act, citing derogatory remarks about Hinduism and anti-India statements. In his tweet, he also urged the ICC to expel Zainab Abbas from the ongoing mega tournament.
His tweet read, “Complaint against @ZAbbasOfficial filed by Advocate & Social Activist @vineetJindal19 with cyber cell Delhi Police. Requesting to lodge FIR under section 153A, 295, 506, 121 IPC and sec 67 IT Act for making derogatory remarks for Hindu faith and beliefs and for anti-Bharat statements. Zainab must be removed from the list of presenters on an immediate basis from the ICC World Cup by @ICC & @BCCI.
