Bangladesh’s decision to opt for bowling first did not result in quick wickets against the England openers. Jonny Bairstow and Dawid Malan, displaying steady accumulation of runs, maintained a ticking scoreboard throughout the powerplay, reaching a total of 60 runs without any loss.
It was only in the eighteenth over that Bairstow departed, following a century-run partnership with Malan. Soon after, Joe Root joined Malan at the crease for England, and during Joe Root’s last-minute pull shot, Mustafizur Rahman was nearly caught off guard.
In the first delivery of the 23rd over, Mustafizur regained his pace and returned to his rhythm, but he faced an unexpected challenge when Root made a sudden movement just before the ball was bowled.
This abrupt shift disrupted Mustafizur’s run-up, causing him to stumble and fall to the ground. Thankfully, he managed to avoid any serious injury, although he remained down for a brief moment.

The physiotherapist attended to him, focusing on his heavily strapped left knee. Fortunately, Mustafizur recovered swiftly and resumed his bowling duties, alleviating concerns about his physical condition.
