During Day 3 of the ongoing second Test between Australia and Pakistan at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Thursday, December 28, an amusing incident took place when a cuddling couple unexpectedly appeared on the stadium’s big screen, causing a surprise uproar among the Melbourne crowd.
A circulating video on X (previously Twitter) captured a girl cuddling with a boy, his arms wrapped around her, as they sheepishly hid their faces in embarrassment. Eventually, the boy waved to the crowd before departing from their spot. While stadium proposals between couples are not uncommon, this particular moment of public affection stood out as a rare sight during the match.
Meanwhile, on the cricket field, Mitchell Marsh and Steve Smith played pivotal roles for Australia, enabling them to secure a 241-run lead against Pakistan on Day 3 at MCG. Marsh fell just short of a century, scoring 96 runs off 130 deliveries with 13 boundaries, while Smith contributed 50 runs off 76 deliveries, including three boundaries. Their formidable 153-run partnership helped the hosts recover from a challenging 16/4 start.
In their first innings, Australia posted a total of 318 runs in 96.5 overs, with Marnus Labuschagne as the top-scorer with 63 runs off 155 balls, including five boundaries. Usman Khawaja, David Warne, and Mitchell Marsh also made valuable contributions with scores of 42, 38, and 41, respectively.
