Ravi Shastri hilariously describes India losing 6 wickets for 0 runs

Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri delivered an unforgettable line while commentating as India experienced a stunning collapse from 153/4 to 153 all out during the second Test against South Africa. Despite a strong start in the first innings, India shockingly lost six wickets without adding any runs to their total on January 3.

During the 33rd over on Day 1 of the second Test, India stood at 153/4, with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul holding the fort in the middle. However, Lungi Ngidi shattered the partnership by dismissing Rahul on the first ball of the 34th over. In the same over, Ngidi also claimed the wickets of Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah.

Shortly after, Kagiso Rabada seized the crucial wicket of Virat Kohli, followed by Mohammed Siraj’s run-out. Rabada then removed Prasidh Krishna, catching him out to conclude India’s innings within the 35th over itself. India’s staggering downfall of six wickets without any additional runs occurred in just 11 balls.

Reflecting on the collapse from the commentary box, Ravi Shastri humorously remarked on air, saying, “If someone went round the corner for a dump and has come back, India has been bowled out for 153!”

A user on X platform shared the clip with a sarcastic caption: “Is this the greatest bit of commentary of all time?” India ended up all out with a lead of 98 runs. By the close of the day’s play, South Africa stood at 62/3, trailing by 36 runs.

Since departing from his role as the Indian men’s cricket team’s head coach, Ravi Shastri has been actively involved in commentary duties. He provided commentary for India’s bilateral series last year, IPL 2023, ODI World Cup 2023, and the Australia vs. Pakistan Test match.

Shastri’s lively antics at the toss have entertained fans considerably. Furthermore, his commentary in both English and Hindi has consistently captivated audiences’ attention, much like the aforementioned video clip.
