WATCH : du Plooy & Ferreira take inspiration from Pakistan to emulate their iconic runout special

Opting to bat first proved to be a challenging decision for the JSK batting lineup, as they faced the setback of losing quick wickets before the powerplay.

The opening pair of Reeza Hendricks and Faf du Plessis struggled to pick up the pace, leaving the score at 33/3 by the end of the powerplay. The situation continued to deteriorate for JSK as they witnessed a rapid succession of wicket losses.

The 12th over added a touch of comedy to the unfolding drama, featuring a regrettable runout between du Plooy and Ferreira. Tabraiz Shamsi bowled the first ball, which Ferreira flicked to long leg for a comfortable single.

However, confusion arose regarding the second run, leading to a mix-up that found both batsmen stranded at the same end. Ferreira kept running while du Plooy remained stationary at the keeper’s end.

Despite du Plooy shouting ‘no,’ unheard by Ferreira, the throw reached the keeper’s end where Jos Butler swiftly collected and released the ball. Shamsi capitalized on the opportunity, joyously dislodging the bails from the stumps.
