During the friendly T20 match, held at the Sai Krishnan Cricket Stadium in Sathya Sai Grama, Bengaluru on January 18, legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar showcased his enduring prowess with the bat. Leading the One World team, Tendulkar demonstrated his cricketing skills by helping his side secure a victory over the Yuvaraj Singh-led One Family, winning by four wickets.
The match was organized by the Sri Madhusudan Sai Global Humanitarian Mission to promote the themes of unity and collective social responsibility. One Family, having won the toss, posted an impressive total of 180/6 in their allotted 20 overs, with opener Darren Maddy contributing significantly with a top score of 51 off 41 balls.
In response, One World, under the captaincy of Tendulkar, aimed for a solid start. Tendulkar himself played a crucial role, scoring 27 off 16 balls and forming a notable opening partnership of 31 with Naman Ojha, who added 25 off 18 balls.
Tendulkar’s innings included three fours and a six, but he was eventually caught by Mohammad Kaif off the bowling of his old nemesis Muttiah Muralitharan. Building on the foundation set by Tendulkar and Ojha, former South African batsman Alviro Petersen played a pivotal role, guiding One World to victory with a remarkable innings of 74 runs from 50 balls.
