WATCH : Heated Babar Azam hurling abuse during verbal spat with Irfan Sukkur

In Sylhet, Rangpur Riders secured a commanding victory over Durdanto Dhaka, marking their second win of the season. Under the leadership of Nurul Hasan, Rangpur Riders posted an imposing total of 183/8, propelled by Babar Azam’s impressive 46-ball 62.

They subsequently bowled out their opponents for a mere 104, with the Pakistani veteran earning the well-deserved title of the man of the match. However, the 29-year-old’s journey to success wasn’t entirely smooth, encountering an early struggle and engaging in a heated altercation with the opposing wicketkeeper.

Facing challenges on the turning pitch, Babar initially found it challenging to accelerate in the early stages of his innings. By the time the Riders lost their third wicket in the 13th over, Babar had accumulated 36 runs at a modest strike rate of 120.

It was during this pause in play, with Afghan Mohammed Nabi joining him on the crease, that a verbal exchange unfolded between Babar and Durdanto’s wicketkeeper, Irfan Sukkur.

According to the footage, Babar appeared to express frustration with some choice words, which Sukkur took offense to, assuming it was directed at him. This led to a heated confrontation, with Babar asserting, “I am not talking to you, I am talking to me.”
