Choosing to bat first proved to be a successful strategy for MI Cape Town as their openers, Rassie van der Dussen and Ryan Rickleton, dominated the Pretoria Capitals bowling, accumulating a score of 66/1 by the end of the powerplay.
Despite van der Dussen’s departure in the 5th over, the Capitals initially hoped to restrict MICT to a modest total within 10 overs. However, the Capitals’ bowling plans unraveled as the visitors mercilessly sent the ball out of the park. Dewald Brevis and Sam Curran later fueled the MICT innings, propelling their team to 198/4 in 17 overs.
Brevis, who had faced challenges earlier in the season, showcased exceptional batting skills by scoring 66 off 32 deliveries, including a unique ‘No Look’ six. In the 18th over, bowled by Daryn Dupavillon, Brevis displayed his distinctive flair again.
Facing a full-length delivery in the slot on the stumps, Brevis lofted the ball towards wide long on, launching a six without bothering to watch where the ball went.

The crowd at Centurion erupted with excitement, thoroughly impressed by Brevis’ personalized touch, reminiscent of his performance against the Joburg Super Kings. With Brevis’s stellar innings, the visitors posted an imposing total of 248/4 in 20 overs.
