Multan Sultans made an impressive start after winning the toss and opting to field first. Islamabad United’s opening duo, Alex Hales and Colin Munro, fell just before the powerplay, leaving their team struggling at 32/2.
Despite some missed opportunities from the Sultans, notably by Khushdil Shah, which supported United’s partnership, Mohammad Rizwan showcased exceptional agility and footwork in the 11th over.
In a tense moment, Olly Stone bowled a full-length delivery that Jordan aggressively swiped at, resulting in a thick edge. The ball seemed destined for the third man boundary where Usama Mir was stationed, but he misjudged the flight, allowing it to slip past him.
Acting swiftly, Multan Sultans’ captain, Mohammad Rizwan, dashed from behind the stumps, executing a brilliant slide just inches before the boundary to halt the ball’s progress.

Mir, capitalizing on Rizwan’s intervention, used his quick reflexes to redirect the ball away from the boundary, thus saving two vital runs for his team.
