WATCH : Rawalpindi crowd goes gaga as rogue kite interrupts play

Karachi Kings effortlessly secured a dominant victory against the formidable Quetta Gladiators in Rawalpindi, comfortably chasing down the modest target of 119 with 27 balls to spare, thus keeping their playoff aspirations alive.

Interestingly, the match witnessed an unexpected interruption when a recreational kite soared into the playing area, momentarily diverting the attention of both players and officials.

During the 11th over, as Shoaib Malik prepared to face Mohammad Hasnain, his focus was disrupted by the sight of a kite flying above the bowler. Despite attempts to ignore it, Malik found the kite too distracting to continue and raised the issue with the umpires.

Cameras then captured a group of boys on a nearby building’s roof, responsible for flying the kite. One of the mischievous boys signaled to Malik, indicating they were behind the distraction.

After some negotiation, it was agreed to bring down the kite to allow play to resume. However, this unexpected incident injected excitement into the crowd, who enthusiastically reacted to the spectacle, momentarily enlivening what had been a largely one-sided affair.
