Winning the toss, the Punjab Kings elected to field first at their new home venue in Mullanpur for the second game. With two left-handers opening the batting for Sunrisers Hyderabad, captain Dhawan opted for the right-arm pacer Kagiso Rabada.
Although there was a potential chance of dismissal on the first ball, it went unnoticed until a brilliant catch redeemed the moment for Dhawan.
On the initial delivery, Kagiso Rabada approached Travis Head from over the wicket, delivering a back-of-a-length ball that moved away from the left-hander.
The ball kissed the outside edge of Head’s bat, but the dismissal was not confirmed as the umpire and captain Dhawan decided against a review. However, moments later, the ultra edge revealed a faint nick, offering a lifeline to Head.
Just as Head seemed to be settling in after the scare, Arshdeep bowled a length delivery that seamed around the off-stump line in the fourth over. Attempting to slog it over mid-off, Head failed to time the shot properly.

The ball skewed over the inner circle, prompting Dhawan to sprint backward from mid-off and execute a spectacular catch under the night sky.
