WATCH : Ishan Kishan earns stunned Shreyas Gopal a wicket with his spidey senses

In the early stages of their clash at the Wankhede, Mumbai Indians managed to stifle the Chennai Super Kings, claiming the wicket of Ajinkya Rahane in just the second over.

However, Rachin Ravindra and Ruturaj Gaikwad signaled their intent to accelerate post-powerplay, with Ravindra showcasing his aggression by smashing Shreyas Gopal for a massive six on the fourth ball of the eighth over.

Before Gaikwad could fully unleash his explosive batting, Ishan Kishan came to Mumbai’s aid with a game-changing DRS appeal. Gopal responded to Ravindra’s huge hit by sending a quicker delivery wide of the stumps. Ravindra attempted a powerful cut, but the ball evaded his bat and nestled into Ishan’s gloves.

Although there was a muted appeal, the umpire remained unmoved, and Gopal seemed to accept the decision. However, Ishan indicated that he had heard something and urged captain Hardik Pandya to review, despite Pandya’s initial skepticism.

While the TV umpire scrutinized the delivery, Mumbai’s players, including Gopal, were already mentally preparing for the next ball, anticipating a not-out verdict. Yet, to their astonishment, the ultra-edge technology revealed a slight spike as the ball passed the bat, sparking jubilant celebrations among the Mumbai camp.

Shreyas rushed to embrace Ishan, his mouth wide with excitement, mirroring the elation of the rest of the team, while Ishan himself wore a broad grin. Twitter users swiftly lauded Ishan’s conviction, recognizing his crucial role in securing the wicket of Ravindra.
