WATCH : Virat Kohli’s fiery exchange with umpire over LBW decision

The Delhi Capitals asserted their dominance with the ball after choosing to bowl upon winning the toss. They efficiently contained the Royal Challengers Bengaluru to 187/9, showcasing significant improvements in their fielding and bowling prowess.

However, the visitors faced an initial setback as David Warner departed in the opening over, providing Bengaluru with an early breakthrough. Further complicating matters, a dispute between Virat Kohli and the on-field umpire during the second over resulted in RCB losing a review.

In the second over’s first delivery, Mohammed Siraj bowled a magnificent in-swinger to Abishek Porel. Porel managed to get his bat down as the ball headed towards the third man.

Siraj was confident that the ball had struck Porel’s pad and signaled to RCB skipper Faf-du Plessis for a DRS review. After scrutiny by the third umpire Nitin Menon, it was determined that the ball had indeed grazed Porel’s bat, overturning RCB’s decision and ruling him not out.

Upon witnessing the verdict, Virat Kohli strode from his mid-off position to engage in a heated exchange with on-field umpire Vineet Kulkarni. Kohli vehemently argued that there was a discernible gap between the bat and the ball, stressing that the bat played no role.

However, despite RCB’s protests, the umpire remained firm, and the match continued unabated. Social media platforms were abuzz with reactions from the Twitter community, swiftly dissecting the contentious moment.
