After a rain delay in the ICC World T20’s second semi-final, England’s captain Jos Buttler won the toss and chose to field first under challenging conditions.
India, sticking with their unchanged lineup, continued with the opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, despite their lackluster performances in the tournament.
In the third over, Reece Topley managed to dismiss Kohli despite being hit for a six just two balls earlier. Kohli, after struggling to get off the mark for five deliveries, finally broke free by hitting an over-pitched delivery from Topley for six.
However, Topley adjusted his length and bowled a delivery that jagged back in. Kohli, attempting to negate the movement by advancing down the track, missed the ball, which crashed into the top of his leg stump.
Don't be sad, King Virat Kohli. We will win! We want a roaring Kohli. We can't see you like this. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜#INDvsENG pic.twitter.com/a1zoso3wpr
