South Africa entered the 2024 T20 World Cup final undefeated. However, their impressive run ended in disappointment as they suffered a heartbreaking seven-run defeat to India in the championship match.
The South African players were left heartbroken after falling just short of clinching their first-ever world championship title. Cricketers and support staff were visibly dejected, with senior players David Miller, Kagiso Rabada, and Quinton de Kock shedding tears as the reality of their near-miss set in.
Amid the somber atmosphere in the South African camp, a few Indian supporters tried to lift their spirits by cheering for the Aiden Markram-led side as they boarded the team bus.
In the 2024 T20 World Cup final, South Africa needed to chase down 177 runs. After 15 overs, they appeared to be in control, needing just 30 runs off 30 balls with six wickets in hand.
