Thanks to a solid opening partnership between Adam Lyth and Tom Banton, Trent Rockets set a target of 126/8 in their 20 overs. Southern Brave started their chase strongly, with openers James Vince and Alex Davies taking them to 39/0 in five overs.

However, their middle order faltered as Trent’s young bowler John Turner claimed a remarkable three-wicket haul, leaving the Brave at 78/6 after 18 overs.

With 49 runs required from the final 20 balls, all eyes were on Kieron Pollard for a potential match-winning performance. Rashid Khan was entrusted with the 17th over, tasked with dismissing the dangerous Pollard.

Pollard responded by smashing the first delivery to cow corner for a six. Rashid’s next ball, a leg break, was similarly dispatched over long-off. As Rashid grew anxious, he delivered a fuller ball that Pollard launched over his head for another massive six.

Pollard continued his assault with two more colossal sixes off the final two deliveries of Rashid’s over. The packed crowd in Southampton erupted with excitement, and social media buzzed with praise for Pollard’s spectacular hitting.
