Sai Kishore was unable to add to the overnight score of 150/6, falling for a duck to Akash Deep. Under the overcast skies in Bengaluru, the Bengal pacer was exceptional, dismantling Washington Sundar’s stumps and dismissing Navdeep Saini for 13 to claim his fifth wicket.

Khaleel Ahmed then wrapped up the innings with the dismissal of Yash Dayal, who had scored a quick 16 with four boundaries. India A was set a target of 277 to win the tournament opener after India B was bowled out for 184.

India B started their innings strongly with Yash Dayal dismissing Mayank Agarwal in his first over. However, Riyan Parag and Shubman Gill steadied the innings, bringing the score to 52/1 before a collapse unfolded before Lunch. Dayal had Parag caught behind for 31, and Saini dismissed skipper Gill and Dhruv Jurel for a golden duck, leaving India A at 76/4 heading into the break.

Upon resumption, Tanush Kotian was dismissed for a duck by Mukesh Kumar, and Shivam Dube fell to Nitish Kumar Reddy for 14, further plunging the team to 99/6 with KL Rahul left to anchor from the other end. Rahul eventually found support from Kuldeep Yadav, and the pair put on a 42-run partnership.

Rahul scored a determined 57 off 121 balls, but a dismissal caught behind off Mukesh Kumar shortly after Tea sealed the team’s fate. Akash Deep provided some late entertainment with a brisk 43 off 43 balls, including three fours and four sixes, but a run-out by Musheer Khan confirmed India A’s 77-run defeat.
