WATCH : Parag’s absurd bowling antics result in rarest of backfoot no-balls

India was on track for a series victory at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the second T20I as Bangladesh slumped to 46/4 within seven overs while chasing 222 runs.

This comfortable lead allowed Suryakumar Yadav to rest his frontline bowlers and experiment with part-timers like Abhishek Sharma and Riyan Parag.

The strategy proved effective, with wickets falling rapidly for Bangladesh, leading to some unusual moments on the field, particularly Riyan Parag’s unconventional bowling action in the 11th over.

When Parag took the ball for the first time, he was immediately hit for a six by Mahmudullah. On his fourth delivery, he opted for a creative approach, starting with a conventional off-spin motion before suddenly shifting to a wide-armed, frisbee-like throw.

Although his unorthodox style deceived Mahmudullah, who let the ball go for a dot, the umpires were quick to intervene, calling a no-ball as Parag’s backfoot had crossed the return crease and was on the grass.

Social media users were left bewildered by this bizarre sequence of events, sharing their reactions online.
