On Day 3 of the ongoing third Test between Pakistan and England, England captain Ben Stokes was dismissed LBW after misjudging a delivery from Pakistan’s Noman Ali.
The well-flighted ball angled back towards the left-handed Stokes, who left it thinking it would drift away. However, it failed to turn back as he expected and struck him dead in front of middle stump.
Umpire Chris Gaffaney had an easy call, sending Stokes back to the pavilion after he scored just 3 runs off 9 balls.
This marked Noman’s fourth wicket of the second innings. He later dismissed Joe Root for 33 runs, completing his five-wicket haul.
Pakistan scored 344 runs on the first day, establishing a lead over England’s total of 267. Saud Shakeel batted impressively, remaining unbeaten on 134 runs, while Noman Ali and Sajid Khan contributed 45 and 48 runs, respectively.
At the end of Day 2, England found themselves struggling at 24/3, a slide that continued into Day 3 as Pakistan’s spinners consistently took wickets during the morning session.
