WATCH : Spidercam glitch brings match to a halt and lunch to the rescue

India got off to a strong start with Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant building momentum on the second day.

Pant took an aggressive approach, smashing three fours in a single over, and Gill quickly joined in as they forged a 96-run partnership, pushing the score to 175/4.

Both batters reached half-centuries, putting India in a solid position. However, Pant’s innings ended when Ish Sodhi dismissed him in the 38th over, leaving Ravindra Jadeja at the crease as India advanced to 195/3 in 43 overs.

As lunch approached, an issue arose during the 43rd over when the spidercam malfunctioned and landed awkwardly on the pitch. The umpires conferred, leading to a temporary stoppage in play.

The Kiwi players shared a few laughs, with Daryl Mitchell joking around with the umpires amid the humid conditions. With the technician delayed in fixing the problem, the umpires decided to call an early lunch due to the unusual interruption.

Amusingly, as the players returned to their dressing rooms, the spidercam sprang back to life. The incident quickly sparked laughter on Twitter, with users sharing their reactions to the mishap.
