Ben Duckett and Joe Root both scored half-centuries, with valuable contributions from the rest of the batting lineup, helping England post a competitive total of 304 after choosing to bat first in the second ODI against India.
The Men in Blue missed several opportunities earlier in the game to contain the visitors, especially on this historically high-scoring ground. One such chance came late in the game when Ravindra Jadeja almost missed a run-out, though not entirely through his fault.
It happened on the first ball of the 46th over when Axar Patel bowled a widish delivery to Liam Livingstone. Livingstone tried to cut the ball, hoping to find the gap near point. As always, Jadeja was quick to move and stopped the ball inside the circle.
With the batters scrambling for a single, the chance for a run-out arose. Jadeja swiftly picked up the ball and, in one fluid motion, raised his arm to throw, but he slipped slightly, causing a sudden jerk that halted his throwing action.
The square-leg umpire, Chris Brown, was positioned directly in line with the stumps from Jadeja’s perspective, making it a risky moment, as the throw could have seriously injured him.

Jadeja, initially agitated, questioned the umpire, but quickly broke into a grin and shared a light-hearted laugh with him. The moment brought some humor to the game, and Twitter users were thoroughly entertained, despite the potential cost of a crucial wicket for India.
