WATCH : Dewald Brevis Launches 114m Monster Six in Super Sixes Challenge

Dewald Brevis stole the spotlight after the Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings clash in IPL 2025, when he launched a jaw-dropping 114-metre six during the Angel One Super Sixes Challenge. Held post-match at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the fun activity brought back memories of earlier IPL seasons when such contests featured both players and team owners. Brevis’s mammoth strike quickly went viral, thrilling the fans who stayed back.

The challenge saw Brevis facing a bowling machine. He stepped up and smashed the ball straight over the sightscreen for a gigantic six, which turned out to be the longest of the season. That single hit not only earned him massive applause but also a cash prize of ₹2 lakh. The powerful strike left everyone in awe and added a moment of joy for CSK supporters, especially in a season that hadn’t gone their way.

Chennai Super Kings had a rough IPL 2025, finishing at the bottom of the table for the first time in their 16-year history. However, the emergence of young South African talent Dewald Brevis provided some consolation. Brought in as a replacement for the injured Gurjapneet Singh, Brevis quickly proved to be a smart acquisition for CSK.

Despite playing only six innings, Brevis became CSK’s top overseas run-scorer with 225 runs at an explosive strike rate of 180.0. His standout performance came against Gujarat Titans, where he blasted 57 runs off just 23 balls, including four fours and five sixes. That knock helped CSK post their highest total of the season—230/5—and showcased Brevis’s ability to change the game rapidly.

While the team struggled overall, Brevis’s powerful cameos were a rare bright spot. His finishing skills and fearless hitting caught the eye of both fans and cricket analysts. Many now believe that if given consistent chances, Brevis could become a key figure in CSK’s future plans.
