The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest Test rankings after the end of the first Test match between India and South Africa. The South African Team easily won that test match by 72 runs.
The South African young bowler Kagiso Rabada bowl superbly in that match and took five wickets. Due to his brilliant performance, he is now the rank 1 Test bowler of the world. He surpassed the England’s fast bowler James Anderson to claim the number 1 spot.
After getting the top ranking, Rabada said,”It’s special to be ranked as the No 1 Test bowler in the world. It is a surreal feeling. It’s what you dream of achieving when you start playing the game.”
“Cricket is ultimately a team sport and I’m thankful for the support from my team-mates. It’s a great start to the year personally and for us as a team, hopefully we can continue putting in winning performances,” he added.
While on the other hand, the India captain Virat Kohli slipped one position and now at the third place. The first two rankers are the Australian captain Steven Smith and the England’s skipper Joe Root. Cheteshwar Pujara has also slipped from third to fifth.
