Ravindra Jadeja suspended for Pallekele Third Test

The star performer of Indian Cricket Team Ravindra Jadeja suspended for the third test of the 3-match Test series against Sri Lanka. Jadeja was found guilty of breaching article 2.2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Player and Player Support Personnel. He also fined his 50% match fee and three demerit points.

The articled is related to “throwing a ball (or any other item of cricket equipment such as a water bottle) at or near a Player, Player Support Personnel, Umpire, Match Referee or any other third person in an inappropriate and/or dangerous manner during an International Match”.

India won the second test match by a huge margin and Ravindra Jadeja announced as the player of the match for his all-rounder performance. It will be a huge blow for team India, if Jadeja will miss the third test, which will be starting in Pallekele from 12-16 August.

The incident happened during the 58th  over of the Sri Lankan innings. When Jadeja throws the ball to the Dimuth Karunaratne. At that time batsman was in the crease and the umpire found guilty Jadeja in that matter. The penalty applied by on-field umpires Bruce Oxenford and Rod Tucker, third umpire Richard Illingworth and fourth umpire Ruchira Palliyaguruge.
