The South African captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and elect to bat first in the first One Day International match against India.
Virat Kohli: We would have batted first as well. It is a pretty easy decision given the conditions around. We have got such a balance in our side that we still can bowl out the opposition side. We have two wrist spinners in our eleven and gives us an added advantage. Kedar with his part-timers bowls a few overs as well. We are a side which chases well. As Faf mentioned that the first 10 overs under lights are important with two new balls. We will have crowd support behind us as well. The mood in the change room is exactly the same. There is positive energy in the change room. It has been a wonderful last few days for us. We will certainly start more confident in the ODI series compared to the Tests.
Faf du Plessis: Looks a pretty good wicket. The Kingsmead wicket speeds up a bit. Aiden Markram comes in. He will be batting at number 4. It would be a nice opportunity for him to be batting at a new number. The rest of the team is our usual ODI team. Imran has been the key to our success for the last 1 and a half year.
