The renowned Indian quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), presented a cricket-related question to a contestant with a chance to win ₹25 lakh. However, the contestant chose to exit the game as they couldn’t provide the correct answer.

Hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, the show posed a cricket-themed question to banker Varsha Saraogi after she had won ₹12.5 lakh. This question revolved around England’s former captains and was presented as follows:

“Out of these ex-English cricket captains, who was not born in India?”

The question presented four options: Nasser Hussain, Douglas Jardine, Colin Cowdrey, and Ted Dexter. Varsha Saraogi, unable to provide the correct answer, chose to exit the game. Her total prize money amounted to ₹12.5 lakh.

The question posed a significant challenge, and even many cricket fans might not have been aware of the correct answer. The answer to the question is Ted Dexter, who was born in Milan, Italy. Dexter’s cricket career saw him participate in 62 Test matches for England from 1958 to 1968, during which he took 66 wickets and scored 4,502 runs.

During Ted Dexter’s tenure as England’s captain, the team participated in 30 Test matches. Under Dexter’s leadership, England secured victory in nine matches, suffered defeat in seven, while the remaining 14 matches concluded in a draw.
